AN INTRODUCTION TO TEES ACTIVE

 Tees Active is one of the new breed of charitable leisure management organisations operating in the UK. Established as a non-profit-distributing company, it started operating on 1st May 2004.

It was set up with the intention of taking on the management of facilities provided by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and works very closely with the council as its main funding partner. However, as an independent organisation it is able to take on other projects with the aim of raising levels of physical activity in the community and providing an excellent management service.

 

VENUES

Tees Active currently operates eight venues. Click the links below, to find out more information about each venue.

 

Thesplash venue button (TAL_VenueBtns.jpg) complex includes a 25metre pool with wave machine and flumes. Splash also boasts a two-storey gym and fitness class programme. Leisure activities are available for the whole family including Badminton and Street Dance.

 

  Our latest re-developmemt includes a 25 metre pool, Ice Arena, Activ8 gym, spinning studio, play barn, bowls club and various different activities and classes available.

A modern and spacious gym facility awaits you with a packed fitness programme running across three studios. Childcare facilities are also available as well as a stylish café area.

for general hire.

 

Tees Barrage venue button (TAL_VenueBtns5.jpg)This Whitewater Facility offers Kayaking, Canoeing, Rafting and a Whitewater Slalom. Cabin Accommodation is also available for those wanting to extend their experience on the water.

 

swan centre berwick venue button (TAL_VenueBtns7.jpg)A wet and dry leisure facility located in the picturesque town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Swan Centre for Leisure is currently undergoing a refurbishment, which will enhance the current facilities.

 

We welcome almost 2 million visits per year and employ around 370 staff.
